I would like to invite you to attend our upcoming Winter Concert, which will feature a return to our classical roots. You will hear Johannes Brahms paint a picture of the heavenly realm, then contrast it with our mortal lot in life in his choral masterpiece Schicksalslied, (“The Song of Destiny”). I love the blissful and peaceful atmosphere he creates, but I also love how he captures the turmoil and strife we all suffer as we walk through life. It’s a brilliant musical portrait of what we are all trying to obtain and what we all have to face as we strive to obtain it. Learning this piece has been a moving experience for me, and I know you’ll be moved, too, as you hear it performed.
