Robert Lochhead, Tenor

robert

Like most of the singers in Utah Chamber Artists, Robert has been involved in music his whole life. He began studying the piano as a child and taught himself how to play the organ as a teenager. He has sung with the BYU Mens’ Chorus and Singers, the Tabernacle Choir, performed La Boheme and La Traviata and has been featured several times as tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah. Robert has sung on and off for almost 10 years with UCA. Some of his choral highlights include singing Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with the Israel Chamber Orchestra, performing at Carnegie Hall (and having cheesecake at the deli afterwards!), and singing Mass in Notre Dame cathedral with UCA. He is a Shakespeare junkie, and makes an annual pilgrimage each summer to the Utah Shakespearean Festival. He enjoys taking road trips, going to the symphony and opera, and reading thick books with his beautiful wife, Colleen, and two daughters, Meri and Lily. Other pastimes include gardening, attending the girls’ ballet performances, going hiking and camping with Lucy, his Airedale Terrier, and having dinner at the Bayou with friends, many of whom also sing in UCA.
