Nate’s introduction to music started at age 5 when he inadvertently played a chord on the piano and got such an enthusiastic response from his grandmother. Although he was content to be an all-purpose piano man for years (weddings, church services, accompanist gigs), Nate didn’t find his voice until high school where he performed at Vocal/Ensemble Festivals and All-State choirs. He went on to sing with the University Chorale at USU. An aspiring singer-songwriter, Nate’s biggest passion is in creating and performing original songs and arrangements. But he’ll readily admit that this passion has allowed him to hide behind the piano and sing in a quiet, smooth style. It was in being introduced to Utah Chamber Artists in 2011 that the fire for choral music was rekindled. Nate became a member two years later and is excited to step out from behind the keys and use his voice in a whole new way.
